As a member of the very busy Kicks store in Oslo I was working in a fast paced environment with a high flow of customers always aiming to provide the best service to our clients. The team consisted of many part time and casual workers which means I as a full time worker often stepped up with delegating tasks between staff members and making sure different areas of the store always maintained organized, clean and well stocked. I also overlooked the stockroom so it stays in order and the staff responsible for their brands keeps their area tidy. Additional responsibility of mine was to set up the new Campaigns in store that changed every 4-6 weeks. Apart from that I was assigned Fragrance section and Urban Decay to stock up, keep clean and priced correctly. These two were the largest and most popular areas of the store. Other duties involved changing pricing with the expected price increase every half year. Receiving deliveries and sending back discontinued lines, stocktake and the daily cash register handling.

Commercial Visual Merchandiser is a key role for Zara stores. Throughout each week I would plan the deliveries of new collections and new items which we receive twice a week. The focus in this role was paying close attention to sales numbers of every item. Observing how different areas of the store are performing and continuously looking for improvements to increase the sales whether it is by coming up with new layouts for collections or different placement in the store for certain products to perform better.A very demanding time was the sales period where preparation was key. As now VM was my sole focus in this job, I took all the feedback from my Visual Merchandising Manager to achieve the most unique layouts and decorative features that the store is known for. A creative challenge for this store was to make the colourful patterns work for a Scandinavian consumer. The company guidelines and standards were always taken into account and I was making sure the rest of the team kept it up. I would share the knowledge with sales associates to ensure the store presentation is at its best at all times. Rotations for collections would be made to inspire customers and induce curiosity for people who walk past our store. Always communicating with the team about the changes made in the store layout or items that are sold out or kept off the shop floor due to poor sales.I had to check if the merchandising materials for new campaigns arrive in time and in good condition, manage the signs and any other materials related to VM and order more if there's a shortage.

Luxury service at this Lacoste boutique was a golden standard. I looked after customers providing advice and alternatives if needed. I made sure all customers on the waitlist or specific product orders were all contacted promptly. Receiving deliveries and approving them on an internal system. Making sure all new deliveries are displayed on time of the launch and the Lacoste way. If there was a new staff member joining the team I would provide the essential training needed about the brand, products and till functions. Since this was a small store I was assisting with management duties and throughout the change of management taking over these duties. (scheduling, setting daily budget and tasks, weekly reports, monthly reports, sales returns, communications with the shopping centre management)

Working as a makeup artist at Laura Mercier developed me as an artist and strengthened my skills and speed of service. Having the best artistry training and events with artists from around the world I soaked up all the knowledge I possibly could. Daily on the counter environment I would aim to steadily grow my sales and average units per sale to contribute to reaching the counter budget. Daily, weekly and monthly figure upkeep and reports. Supporting the Business Manager with administrative tasks, assisting with reports. Communicating with the brand to ensure all latest products reach the store on time. Keep up to date with stock quantities and update the system, send order requests to refresh stock levels.My artistry and work was recognized with a Mentor title and additional responsibilities. I would train new staff members to cover basic knowledge about the products and the brand ethos, hygiene standards and more. I would also travel to other stores to participate in any major events with magazines or known artists to promote the brand.
