• Lead and direct a department to write, edit, and produce print and online content, maintain agency branding, and manage the budget and contract deliverables for the Department of Human Services and other funders.• Direct development and content of the agency’s four websites, including an agency blog.• Manage all aspects of digital, print, social media, and other marketing strategies and advertising for agency programs and services.• Support the agency’s fund development and policy development efforts through effective communications strategies and issue management.• Serve on the senior leadership team, participating in strategic planning and DEI initiatives.

Manages all aspects of an extensive grant making portfolio, including general operating, capital, and pro-gram grants across multiple topic areas in a three state region. Since 2014, focused specifically on central and western North Dakota with a special emphasis on developing organizational capacity, and building community-foundation relationships. Responsible for designing and implementing over $4 million in specific funding initiatives, including asset-building for low-income families, a three-year oral health funding strategy, and a scholarship program at 10 community and technical colleges.

Managed and directed the Interpretation Unit, including responsibility for project timelines, workflow, budgets and evaluation; developed, wrote, and edited publications and online training tools interpreting communica-tions research on specific topics, including rural development, food systems, community health, race and immigration, early child development, and education reform; provided training and technical assistance to community-based organizations throughout the United States and in Alberta, Canada.

Wrote, edited and produced Healthy Generations, including issues on food insecurity and hunger, children’s oral health, American Indian community health, and public health and war; planned and directed continuing education programs for public health professionals, including seminars and video conferences; provided technical assistance to local public health agencies; coordinated promotion of the MCH program.

Wrote and published major reports, data briefs and newsletter articles, including oversight of design, printing, web and print dissemination; provided training and technical assistance presentations in communities throughout the state, including policy advocates, state agencies, legislators and legislative staff and the general public; collected and analyzed child well-being data indicators, including health, economic, juvenile justice, and child welfare using available national and state data sets; coordinated legislative advocacy efforts for CDF’s child nutrition policy agenda; wrote grants and managed contracts to support the project.
