As Project Accountant, I provided man-hour control on various projects, including control of expenses, expense claims, monthly billing and unbilled revenue reconciliations. Appointed as sole accountant on the Sappi Go Cell project (valued at R85m), reportedly directly to the CFO. I was instrumental in the billing of the Husab Uranium project, and the delivering of VAT returns for Botswana and Namibia company branches.Holding responsibility for cost and billing reconciliations, my role involved managing monthly Profit and Loss reporting and ad hoc reports. I steered investigations for my assigned projects , and resolved billing discrepancies with internal and external customers, expat engineers and in-house consulting engineers, to achieve the timely billing of the large paper mill project

Performed the mapping of historical data and conversion in Excel for Ax3sp5, and created CSV files according to the field set up and importation of Ax. Executed importation of Forecasts and Budgets. Shadowed consultant and provided support with implementations in different regions. Handled special projects within the main project, when requested. Managed maintenance of all master data within the company database in Ax.

In this role, I established and administrated a new branch from an existing Micro Lender, and steered the setup of systems and the full accounting function to management pack level. I managed budgets, forecasts, and statistical returns for the Micro Finance Lending Authority, and also conducted Credit Screening of all potential clients. Utilising Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and Simply Accounting (Small Business Edition of Accpac), I maintained a 600K book with less than 5% bad debt sustained. I supervised junior staff.

Reporting directly to the Financial Director, I delivered a full accounting function and executed system setup on CB,AR,AP,PO & General ledger and Fixed Assets. I led the Accpac Windows setup and generated reports via Crystal Reports, adhering to Group Requirements, and liaised with the Divisional Accountant and supervised the bookkeeper. In addition, I performed various ad hoc investigation, and produced various reports and intercompany balances reconciled with the divisions

At ATIO, I provided financial routines/systems implementation and staff supervision, reporting directly to the Group Financial Director in my second year. This involved the reconstruction of six months of lost accounting records, inclusive of Debtors, Creditors, Cashbooks, General Ledger and Fixed Assets. I instituted simple clerical routines and supervised several permanent and temporary staff. I also conducted month-end closure, and inter-company reconciliations, liaising with divisional staff and financial Directors.
