As a part of this visit, I held a meeting with the team/staff as well as members of the Parent Advisory Board. The information we gathered in these meetings along with the observation ratings and documentation helped to determine their adherence to the accreditation standards. At the end of my visit, I would compile my report, along with the documentation on my observation ratings and make my recommendation to accredit the program or defer the decision until specific standards are met.

    I had several different positions during the 13 years I worked for the school district. I was a Supervisor in their Accredited School Age Care Program. I managed the older kids program before and after school as well as the Summer Older Kids program. In this capacity I managed full time, part time and seasonal staff. I worked directly with the children and their parents. I developed a summer curriculum for the older children that focused on leadership skills and teambuilding activities. I worked with the teachers within the school to address behavior issues with children in our programs. Over the years in this position, I developed the ability to handle conflict in a professional manner in highly emotional and potentially volatile situations. Not only was I able to effectively manage the children, but I was able to work with the parents and handle the issues that arise when you are dealing with a parent who may or may not be very cooperative when it comes to their child.Another position I held for the School Age Program was the Accounts Manager. I handled the financial end of the program. I communicated and implemented policy changes to our families. I was able to manage the relationships with parents as it pertained to their child care bill with the program. I worked with various counties to process the subsidized day care billing and worked with them to help support our families in need.
