After completing a residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at Montefiore Medical Center; American Cancer Society Fellowship in Cytopathology, under the direction of Leopold G. Koss, MD; and fellowship in Surgical Pathology of the Breast at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, under the direction of Paul Peter Rosen, MD, joined the academic and clinical faculty at Columbia University Medical Center.In addition to handling heavy and diverse case loads, served as Director of the Division of Cytopathology for over ten years. Particularly interested in applying innovative techniques of "whole-brain learning" to engage residents, fellows, and medical students.

I am officially a long-term care Ombudsman in New York State. Long-term care Ombudsmen advocate for the rights of residents living in nursing homes.

Honored to have been appointed as a non-veterinarian member of the American Veterinary Medical Association's (AVMA) Council on Education (COE). The COE of the AVMA is charged with oversight and standardization of veterinary medical education within the United States and abroad.
