My experience with this organization has reinforced to me the value that passionate customer service and strong communication skills can bring to the organization and to the bottom-line as well. I have been effective in recruiting new chamber members, establishing and maintaining effective working relationships, and connecting them to individuals or businesses that help resolve various challenges, and have always provided them with timely and supportive assistance. For me it was important to go beyond the usual chamber networking and marketing initiatives. This included partnering with community leaders to promote workforce wellness by creating a chamber Wellness Committee which acted as a resource for chamber businesses to help start and/or build and support their wellness programs. We also facilitated collaboration among area businesses to support each other which supported our goal to create a healthy community and work environment.Our chamber Education Foundation partnered our businesses with the educational community to promote programs that offered applied business and vocational experiences. This provided learning experiences which strengthened opportunities for students to gain employment skills or advancement into higher education, either college or vocational/technical training.We worked hard to promote charitable giving and employee volunteerism to our businesses. Through this initiative we partnered with our chamber member businesses to provide help to many individuals and families in need both within and outside of our communities. We enjoyed working with organizations such as the West Allis Community Improvement Foundation , the Disabled American Veterans West Allis Chapter 19 and the MACC Fund – Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer to name a few. I supervised the overall budget, staff and office management, successfully negotiated the office machines, services, and relocated our office twice.
