Leading a team of development professionals to create a fully sustainable fundraising program based on strategic planning, annual giving, major gifts, corporate sponsorship and grant-writing. A coach approach to my leadership supported this high performing team to raise millions of dollars within four years. As an active member of the Executive Team, I learned and practiced my leadership skills and contributed to establishing the future vision of the Royal BC Museum.

This unique department was launched in 2001 under my leadership with a vision of creating unique corporate partnerships for the UVIc. This program raised $12million during my 7 year tenure at the university and was recognized as a unique and successful approach to university fundraising.

This two year experience was a wild ride of learning to lead, creating high stakes sponsorships and moving faster than I thought possible. I had the pleasure of leading a team of energetic professionals who stretched themselves everyday as we strove together to create $28million in corporate sponsorships for the highly successful 1999 Pan Am Games. A definite highlight in my career!

As the Executive Director I was responsible for all administrative aspects of the organization and the liasion with host communities throughout Manitoba as they hosted the summer and winter games. Working directly with the Board and multiple volunteer board across the province provided an opportunity to practice board engagement, volunteer management and project planning on a daily basis. While in this role we successful launched the first sponsorship program for the Manitoba Games which included the inventory of assets, prospect and proposal development and the ongoing servicing of sponsor relationships. This program continues to grow and thrive today!
