Financial analysis responsibility for shared service organizations (Finance, Law, Human Resources, etc.). Facilitated the development, implementation, and expansion of a global shared service model for corporate staff and governance functions. Driving system and process enhancements, annual budgets were completed earlier than any previous year. Worked extensively with Hewitt Associates colleagues to ensure a smooth integration of shared service and governance organizations. Annual budgets exceeded $1 billion. Utilizing the financial reporting systems, created management reporting of shared services expenses that previously did not exist.

Systematically developed enhanced reporting using Hyperion to more effectively analyze P&L data. Improved financial reporting processes such that analysis previously performed quarterly was now prepared monthly.

Consolidation of accounting and financial analysis responsibility for US corporate staff and governance functions (Information Technology, Human Resources, Law, Finance, etc). Annual budget exceeded $700 million. Analyzed and published monthly financials with comparative data on headcount, the balance sheet, and the P/L. Consolidated, analyzed, and issued the quarterly forecasts and annual financial plan. Provided balance sheet and P/L analysis for evaluation by senior management and external auditors for the earnings release. Ensured more than 500 balance sheet account reconciliations were performed each month. Managed the US fixed assets, bank reconciliation, and accounts payable reconciliation departments.

Key member of the Strategic Sourcing organization in developing, piloting, and institutionalizing a rebate process for component pricing. More than $4 million was recovered from suppliers within the first six months of implementation. Facilitated a 5% inventory year over year reduction through the introduction of programs including inventory hubbing and deferral or elimination of lifetime buy inventory purchases. Met annual material cost reductions that exceed 110% of any previous year. Utilized an Essbase database, facilitating the data collection and analysis of inventory and cost reductions significantly improving quality and cycle time.

Accounting and financial reporting responsibility for a business with annual sales totaling $1 billion. Utilized Oracle and Hyperion to consolidate 15 foreign subsidiaries for the timely submission of accurate financials to senior management and corporate headquarters. Analyzed and published monthly financial data. Provided financial evaluation and integration of Motorola’s $16.5 billion acquisition of General Instruments.
