I was a Cruise Specialist when the Norwegians still owned Norwegian Cruise Line, the Chandris family was a leader in the industry, Bob Dickinson was the loudest voice in the industry, a small ship had 500 to 700 passengers, a large ship 2000 and we still dressed up for the Captain's Dinner. These were the days when we only had early and late dining, the Midnight Buffet was a feast and all food was included in the price of the cruise ticket. It before fax machines and the internet. Tickets were printed and you could use your certified birth certificate as proof of citizenship.The cruise lines were privately held companies. Not publicly traded mega corporations.I enjoyed an amazing career and feel privileged to have experienced the evolution of cruising.
