We are well into plans for the fourth annual McMichael Moonlight Gala, to be held June 6 on the lush grounds of Canada's iconic McMichael Canadian Art Collection. The McMichael Canadian Art Collection is a uniquely Canadian experience, providing visitors with a special introduction to Canadian art, culture and history. The Gallery is situated on 100 acres of wooded land with hiking paths. There is also a sensational new Sculpture Garden.Known for its devotion to collecting only Canadian art, the McMichael permanent collection consists of almost 6,000 artworks by Tom Thomson, the Group of Seven, their contemporaries, and First Nations, Inuit and other artists who have made a contribution to Canada's artistic heritage.

In this capacity, I have spoken to leadership donors at the major Canadian banks, as well as to broader groups of donors at consulting firms, government bodies, major retailers and social service agencies. The goal is to raise funds for the United Way campaign, which provides valuable resources for the vulnerable in our community.

Rambam has a critical message to deliver. I have been involved in marketing and fundraising, and of course, writing and editing some of the materials.

JVS Toronto helps individuals overcome barriers to employment. I was Chair of Facilities, served on the Executive, Finance, Risk, Investment, Corporate Sponsorship, JCI, and represented the Board at three separate union negotiations. I was also co-chair of the annual Strictly Business Luncheon.

I started off at Toronto Life, and then became business editor of Quill & Quire Magazine. I freelanced for Canadian Business, Saturday Night, Toronto Life, The Financial Post and Chatelaine, writing columns and pieces that ran between 3000 and 5000 words. I covered takeovers and business leaders, healthcare and education.I was heard weekly on CBC's Arts National, providing news on book publishing, retail bookselling, authors and agents, and I lectured at York University on book publishing. I have been reprinted in An Introduction to Canadian Business, 4th Edition (McGraw-Hill Ryerson).
