Diane’s Bikinis began in the spring of 1962, with the first store opening as Mickie’s Swim Shop. This small, 150 sq./ft. store front was located next to the Manhattan Beach Pier in Southern California. The swim shop was owned by Diane’s Mother, Mickie Bandle and her custom-made bikinis were the talk of the town.Diane Biggs grew up in Manhattan Beach, CA in the 1950’s and watched as her mother grew her bikini empire. Diane quickly realized her love for swimwear and entrepreneurship and decided to take over the family business. After many great years, Mickie’s Swim Shop became known as Diane’s Bikinis. Diane began to walk in her mother’s footsteps and her growing business spread like wildfire.Diane’s passion and knowledge about the swimwear industry is the reason her business is so successful.
