Diane Stollenwerk, MPP, leads a consulting firm primarily focused on improving health and health care. Her work with clients across the country involves strategic planning, process improvement, group facilitation, measurement and transparency, consumer engagement, public affairs, sustainability, competitive intelligence, product development and marketing. During a career spanning nearly 30 years, she has worked in nearly every aspect of the health care system, with multi-stakeholder collaboratives and professional associations, and has led projects in the software, transportation, corrections, education, and utilities sectors. She is a member of Women of Impact, a national coalition of health care leaders started with funds from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, and sits on the boards of the Mental Health Association of Maryland and the Creative Alliance. In 2016, after a nationwide search, she was selected by Family Medicine for America’s Health to join their national board to guide a collaborative of eight national medical associations committed to promoting primary care. From 2014 to 2017, she was a gubernatorial appointee to the Maryland Health Care Commission, overseeing health care quality measurement, transparency and state-wide planning. In 2013, she co-founded the Patients’ View Institute to strengthen the power of patients in health policy discussions. An award-winning public speaker, Diane has a master’s degree in public policy from Harvard University and a BA in English from San Diego State University.
