Conductor - Diane Wittry is known for her dynamic concerts, creative programming, and engaging audience rapport. She was recently named one of the "30 Top Professional Musicians in America" by Musical America Worldwide. Frequently engaged as a guest conductor, she has led symphonic performances in more than 11 countries and throughout the U.S. Orchestras she has guest conducted include The Los Angeles Philharmonic, The Milwaukee Symphony, The San Diego Symphony, The Osaka Symphony, Japan, among others, and she the first woman to conduct at the renown Ojai Music Festival, CA. Diane Wittry is the Music Director and Conductor of the Allentown Symphony, PA. In the past she has been the Music Director of the Garden State Philharmonic, NJ; the Norwalk Symphony, CT; and the Symphony of Southeast Texas. From 2011-2018 she was the Artistic Director of the International Music Program with the Sarajevo Philharmonic, Bosnia. Wittry is also recognized as a composer and a respected conducting teacher. Her books "Beyond the Baton," and "Baton Basics-Communicating Music through Gestures," (Oxford University Press) have become standards in the conducting field. Wittry has taught Graduate Level Orchestral Conducting at the Mason Gross School for the Arts at Rutgers University in New Jersey, and is a conducting teacher at many International Conducting Workshops. She is a frequent guest speaker about music for conferences and seminars such as League of American Orchestras National Conferences, and the International Conductor's Guild Conferences.
