About Dianna Lam
My experience is not linear. Early in my career, I took every opportunity to learn and grow. I started in Operations, which gave me experience supporting customers ranging from users to partners to internal stakeholders. My success was driven by my ability to build authentic relationships and work cross-functionally. When I pivoted to Compliance, I brought my cross-functional skills to help solve complex projects. The projects included marketing reviews, product roadmap development, and building operational programs from scratch. I am looking to bring my project management expertise, relationship-building skills and creative problem-solving abilities to create programs and improve efficiencies in my next venture. As a passionate program manager, below is my recipe for success. *Recipe for a successful program manager:*Ingredients: CollaborationCommunication Problem-solvingAdaptability OrganizationHow it’s made: 1. A cup of natural empathy allows you to build strong relationships with stakeholders that help influence and execute the company's vision. 2. Add a tablespoon of clear communication since it is vital when working on complex initiatives cross-functionally. Always over-communicate to ensure stakeholders are aligned. Build trust with your stakeholders and empower them to provide feedback to improve workflows, programs, etc. 3. Whisk in strategic problem-solving by taking a step back to look at the big picture before getting into the details. Understanding the root cause/problem is essential before providing a solution. Mixing in Step 1 allows you to listen to different perspectives to help propose options to solve problems. 4. Following step 3, if the recipe isn't tasting to your liking, you never want to view it as a failure. You must be resourceful, flexible, and adaptable to adjust your ingredients for better results.5. Lastly, top it off with a healthy sprinkle of Type A that enjoys being hyper-organized, so your program is built to top efficiency.I also love to follow recipes outside of work since I am the resident baker for friends and family. My other side hustle is being a dog mom-mager to my dog, Raylan (@raylan.thecavapoo). To manage my dog’s social media, I get to use my creative side by connecting with people and building community with dog parents and small businesses.
