Having lived in more than 20 cities and towns in Texas, I have also visited much of the Lone Star State, nearly all 254 counties. In June 2020, I drove the perimeter of Texas and started a blog about my adventure with two Texas tourism colleagues. I have continued to tell the story of travel in Texas through my blog - www.howbigistexas.com.My "How Big Is Texas" story was featured on the long-running, Texas-based television series, Texas Country Reporter.

Promoting San Angelo as a tourism destination. Sought the designation of Visual Arts Capital of Texas for San Angelo. Wrote the applications for consideration for San Angelo to be named the #1 True Western Town in the U.S. by True West Magazine in 2020 and 2022 and #2 True Western Town in the U.S. in 2019 and 2021. Worked with the Texas Music Office and the Texas Film Commission to have San Angelo named a Music Friendly Texas Community and a Film Friendly Texas Community, respectively.

Took a year off to live like a visitor in order to learn how visitor's make decisions. With more than 20 years of hospitality experience, I worked with communities and small businesses by providing consulting in travel and tourism. My services included consulting, writing, and shooting destination photography for a community/business in order to improve their product, increase their visibility and, in the end, improve their bottom line.

Recruitment and retention of member businesses and organizations in the travel and tourism industry. Traveling to member locations to develop an understanding of their product and identifying needs and challenges. Liaison to TTA councils and committees including young professionals, travel and tourism research, and communications. Assisting with the development and implementation of TTA’s Travel and Tourism College and Destination Marketing Organization Program including curriculum, itinerary, identifying instructors, sponsorships, promotion of events, and communication. Assisting with the development and implementation of content for TTA conferences and events including Travel Unity Dinner, Marketplace, National Travel & Tourism Week, and Travel Summit. Management of personnel. Implementing strategic plan.

Addressing the needs of member businesses, recruiting new business and promoting Hillsboro as a tourism destination.

Implementing leisure and group travel objectives outlined in the CVB marketing plan.
