Worked cooperatively with all staff and faculty members to monitor, assess and implement additional supports for students when necessary in order to ensure the successful completion of programming. Coordinated scheduling annually for Program Essentials classes for all Neeginan programs, CPR/First Aid training, W.H.M.I.S. certification, Computer training and any additional workshops or presentations as required.Developed and implemented lesson plans and activities incorporating all 9 Essential Skills into the program spanning a vast array of topics; Trades Program Preparation, Career Preparation, Time Management, Goal Setting, Communication Skills and a variety of other college success-related subjects. Utilized educational background in Native Studies to teach students about Treaties, the Residential School system, the Indian Act, the history of colonization in Canada, Land Claims, Aboriginal relocation, Aboriginal Historical Timeline, Traditional customs, beliefs and practices, etc. which not only increased knowledge but more importantly impacted the self-esteem and confidence of the students.
