June 1984 to May 2000, and again March 2010 to February 2019. Responsible for researching books, writing descriptions, and laying out some 200 catalogues, most recently with InDesign. Designed the FileMaker databases that track inventory and invoices, with ongoing modifications to make them more efficient; wrote how-to manuals explaining these and other office operations. Created website (www.livroraro.com) with searchable databases. Responsible for running New York office 5 months of year.

Adapted *Outdoor Monuments of Manhattan: A Historical Guide* (New York University Press, 2007) into 54 segments of about 4 minutes each, for Monuments of Manhattan videoguide app. Helped create the app’s format; did scriptwriting and recording for all episodes; did extensive research for historical images; wrote supplementary webpages; did intellectual property research; wrote marketing copy.An app on Central Park is now in production.

Research, writing, editing, and seeing through the press books, articles, brochures, Wikipedia articles, and other promotional materials. Research on the Net and at New York City libraries & institutions, including reading and transcribing manuscript material in horrendous handwriting. Author & publisher of *VersaQuill Copywriting Workbook,* available on Amazon: a series of worksheets, checklists and summaries that's a practical guide to writing persuasive copy, organized in step-by-step form.

Wrote more than 100 blog posts evaluating the About Us pages of businesses and institutions (http://corporatehistorynet.blogspot.com/ ), graded on three scales: personality, information on the company's product or service, and accessibility.

Researcher and production manager for an independent press at a major university: researched images and permissions, wrote historical survey, designed and laid out text and cover, saw book through press, assisted in website design, consulted on marketing and sales. Book completed in 2.5 months. Sensitive topic: details upon request.

Wrote and edited descriptions of books on travel, the history of science, art, and architecture; laid out catalogues in Quark

Researched and wrote *Understanding Internationalism,* vol. 10 in Understanding American History, a series of texts on American foreign relations intended as supplementary texts for high-school students. Published 2010.

Helped American History Workshop, an exhibition design firm, in research and writing phases of lobby exhibition (the “Living Wall”) at Hill Pavilion of University of Pennsylvania’s School of Veterinary Medicine. Gathered and summarized faculty and staff ideas for the exhibition; collected 500 quotations and images for use on the Wall.

Researched items to be offered for sale on a section of the site devoted to the arts. Evaluated almost 2000 items, described those appropriate for inclusion on the site, researched availability and discounts.

Summers, while writing doctoral dissertation at University of Cincinnati. Wrote physical descriptions of manuscripts, transcribed parts of texts, and identified authors and works in standard references.
