Dian Yu got her Ph.D. in Engineering and Public Policy at Carnegie Mellon University. As an interdisciplinary scholar, her research lies at the intersection of innovation, institutions, and nascent markets. Her dissertation explores the institutional and innovation strategies that firms consider when governments regulate technology features in nascent markets (i.e., commercial drone industry). She has received several research fellowships, including the NSF Science of Science Doctoral Dissertation Research Improvement Grant, and the David H. Barakat and LaVerne Owen-Barakat College of Engineering Dean's Fellowship.
