Risk Management Specialist
Current- Investigate claims and respond to customer inquires by performing research on damaged and stolen items; provide resolutions to customers, internal departments, and external organizations
- Resolve claims by investigating paper trails, coordinating with regional and international operations, and pulling information/data from Origami (Risk Management System)
- Assists with accounting approvals by calculating liability payouts and refunds to settle and reconcile customer accounts; run reports from claims database and submit findings to upper-level management
- Claims closure rate of 20 claims per week and a 100% subrogation closing rate, saving UPS approximately $5,000 to date
- Consult with departments to identify exposures to lose, recommend loss reduction strategies, and review and approve contract insurance language within established guidelines
