Project Arbeit : "CFD based simulations for cooling block in High-speed detectors"• Thermal analysis of the proposed cooling system for the 4MP (Mega-Pixel) AGIPD (Adaptive Gain Integrating Pixel Detector) X-ray detector• Development of a new conceptual Cooling block design for AGIPD• Evaluation and CFD based thermal simulations of the conceptual cooling block design to reform the existing cooling system• Performed multiple CFD based thermal simulations of cooling channels to understand design parameters that can be optimized based on limitations and thermal specifications• Result involved a cooling concept design developed to provide a better distribution of the temperature field of roughly -30°C (peak to valley temperature less than 5 Kelvin) within the cooling block that is less prone to the risks of leakage during operation under high vacuum• CAD modelling and CFD simulations of the cooling systems used for the large data read-out electronic boards • Study and simulation of new cooling technology involving Microfluidics cooling wafers that are applicable for the next gen detector cooling systems

Master Thesis: "Test Setup for Thermographic Analysing of High Speed X-ray Detectors" • Study involving the theoretical considerations required for the given test bench ( black body radiation, emissivity, heat transfer, infrared radiation, spectral configuration etc. ) • Drafting a test setup for thermal characterization of detector modules. DEPleted Field-Effect Transistor (DEPFET) Sensor with Signal Compression (DSSC) technology• CAD design and procurement of the experimental setup for thermography measurements • Study of the transient thermal behavior of the temperature field of the detector module under ambient and high-vacuum conditions• CAD modelling of the mock DSSC ladder module from the given heat dissipating elctronics • Thermography measurements from DAQ instruments (IRBIS 3 Infratec, Lakeshore, keithley, PT 100 etc.)• Analysis and calibration of temperature readout data with Python, considering the detector response and environmental effects

Worked part-time as a guest engineer in supporting the integration and component level testing of the high speed DEPFET Sensor with Signal Compression (DSSC) imaging X-ray detector in the detector laboratory. Systems integration of the DSSC high speed X-ray detector: • support of mechanical integration of the detector systems in the detector laboratory • support of the installation of the motion systems and design of 3D printed support structures Component level testing of detector subsystems before commissioning: • Inspection of mechanical and vacuum components against mechanical and ultra-high vacuum specifications • Electrical testing of signal and power cables against specifications • Project related documentation of the test results, procurement (pool4tool), inventory management for spare parts and cables

Topic : "Study of Shot Peening with “Soft Particles""•Study of the shot peening process in the case of “soft impinging shots” on the surface of the target metallic component.•An analytical modelling is carried out according to the assumptions to have a theoretical outline of the shot peening process during the variation of the target material and the shot particles stiffness.•Results involve the generation of graphical results from the proposed analytical model for the specimen like SAE 1070 spring steel and steel shot particles. •The model is applied as a tool in the understanding and construction of an optimised shot peeing chamber.

• Initially involved with analysis and construction of a suitable Analytical Model to interpret the results of the Shot-peening process.• Study and understanding the parameters that needed to be modified for the optimization of the Shot- peening process in their production lines. • Extended the internship into my Bachelor thesis further for the needs of completion of the degree.

Shell Eco-marathon is an annual competition conducted by Shell, challenging students around the world to design and build a highly energy-efficient internal combustion engine powered automobile. I participated in the 2015 leg of the completion, held in Manila, Philippines as a part of Team Megadolon. We designed and built a diesel powered automobile from scratch, which achieved a fuel efficiency of ~143 km/liter, and we were placed 5th in the Asia participant category, among a field of 220 entries. I have attached a separate document with more details on the competition and our automobile design. I played the role of a Systems Engineer within my team, and my primary responsibility included:- Design of the Steering System- Chassis Design- Design compliance with competition rulesI gained valuable experience through my role, including knowledge on :a) Carbon fiber fabrication b) Introduction to light weight systemsc) Introduction to simple power trainsApart from the above, I was able to realize the importance of team work, perseverance and time management first-hand, all of which I feel would prove to be crucial life lessons in the longer run.

Worked closely with the maintenance team for Veolia, in their reverse osmosis plant. Involved on maintenance of High Pressure pumps, booster pumps and regular inspection of the plant.
