Dick has, for most of his life, had the pleasure of developing great executives in innovative companies. Between 1969 and 1975 he held various positions in Europe for Mobil Oil Corp. In 1975 he was appointed International Controller for Nixdorf Computer AG, Germany until 1977 when he was appointed President of Douglas Dunhill Inc. a direct response company in Chicago, a position he held until 1979. Since 1980, Dick has been Chairman and owner of Rothkopf Enterprises Inc., a direct response company. He was the cofounder in 1985 of Stand-buys, one of the US's first direct response travel clubs and was its chairman until the business was sold in 1992 to CUC International. He was the cofounder in 1993 of Learning Curve International, a global educational toy company, where he held the position of Executive Chairman from 1993 until its acquisition by RC2 Corporation in 2003. When Learning Curve was acquired by RC2 Corp (a NASDAQ listed company), its annual sales were in excess of $130 m. Dick then served as Senior Vice President and a director of RC2 Corporation until December 31, 2006. He was the cofounder in 2006 of Ludorum PLC and has held the position of Chairman since that time until December of 2014 when he stepped down as Chairman. Ludorum is the originator and producer of Chuggington, an educational preschool entertainment property that appears daily on television in 127 territories around the globe and is translated into 27 languages. Dick served from 2011 to 2017 as executive Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sky Zone LLC and Sky Zone Franchise Group. Sky Zone is the world’s first indoor trampoline park. Since Dick joined the board, Sky Zone grew from a small company to a profitable operation with more than $350 million in annual sales when it was sold in 2017 to a private equity company. Since 2018, Dick has been an investor and advisor to early-stage companies. Dick is an active supporter of early childhood education, has served on the board of Start Early since 1998 until the present and was chairman of that organization for three years. He also served on the board of the Vail Valley Foundation and the Vail Youth Power 365.
