The Mission at 101MFG is to build "California's NEXT great manufacturing center [sm]".I started this network of manufacturing top executives back in the 90's to directly engage top executives from nearly 1,000 small to midsized specialty fabrication, machining, test, electronics, aerospace, medical and component manufacturers with the 200 Global OEM's [Agilent, Medtronic, Intel, Lockheed, Tesla ... ] who domicile in the Greater Bay Area.During 2013, nearly $10MM of new new contracts for local suppliers were the direct result of our introductions, 20 top-executive or key technical hires were made through our 'vetted' hiring referrals, more than $7MM in insurance and benefits costs were saved through our Vantreo members' programs, 7 firms received their ISO 9001 and AS9100 certifications through our low-cost quality certification program and nearly 200 high school students were introduced to manufacturing careers through our job-shadowing programs and career-fairs.Today, and during the next five years - as a wave of "baby boomer" business owners retire, our research shows a potentially catastrophic effect on the local supplier base if business owners "exit" through traditional means. So, we are creating the region's premiere M&A and strategy practice through partnerships with Manex and Manufacturers' Financial Strategies - to make sure the jobs, the skills and expertise, and the strategic fabrication and production capacity stays in Northern California.
