This was part of a multi-disciplinary project for Centro, the West Midland Passenger Transport Executive, promoting the five extensions to the Line One light rail system.Tested alternative solutions using a CUBE-based mode choice model, to analyse the mode shift variation of public and private users, as well as assessment of travel patterns along the proposed tram routes.Nottingham Bus Priority Schemes and Phase 1 Nottingham Express Transit (Extension Study using Nottingham Multi-Modal Model). Transport modeller in the enhancement of Nottingham bus priority schemes using CUBE/TRIPS software to modify and assess appropriate options in order to improve boarding/journey times and route/corridor development. Also used a SATURN model to evaluate the impacts of bus priority schemes on highway attributes as well as monitoring traffic congestion along major highway corridors. Useful data analysed included sub-area network and AM peak matrix, traffic count data, speed flow curves, and GIS files showing the network.Portsmouth Local Transport PlanSet transport targets for Portsmouth’s second Local Transport Plan (2006/2007 to 2010/2011) using preset performance indicators. In accordance with Department for Transport guidelines and existing trajectories, also produced guidelines for joint LTP targets for the Solent region which comprises Portsmouth, Isle of Wight, Southampton, Portsmouth City authorities and Hampshire County Council. The targets included traffic mileage, mode share, public transport provision as well as other safety, environmental and accessibility indicators.Co-authored Portsmouth Second Local Transport Plan which included setting targets and monitoring framework over a five-year period.
