A range of tests were carried out, including hypothetical pricing scenarios which built on findings from earlier work. This set a framework for the national multi-modal Transport integrated policy.Urban Congestion Programme Evaluation StudyEvaluation of whether the urban congestion in the UK was specifically the result of interventions from local government, in connection with the Urban Congestion Public Service Agreement (PSA) indicator. The study also considered which interventions were most effective in reducing congestion and assessed the value for money of the whole urban congestion programme. APRIL3 - Assessment of Pricing Roads in LondonTransport modeller in the implementation of sophisticated London transport model to allow the testing of various road pricing options. Also upgraded the model to include recalibration and re-basing to allow multiple area licences to be represented and tested.Cambridge Sub-Regional ModelCalibrated and validated Cambridge Sub-Regional Model for Cambridgeshire County Council’s Transport Innovation Fund (TIF) business case. The was developed from existing strategic models and data sources representing population and employment growth, to assess impact of road pricing options.Land Use and Transport Policy Testing for SOLUTIONS Research ProgrammePolicy researcher on SOLUTIONS (Sustainability of Land Use and Transport in Outer Neighbourhoods) which assessed different land use and transport development strategies in the suburban areas of London and the Wider SE of England. Study of Gui-Guang Railway Project in China.Project manager for a World Bank funded independent assessment/study of the medium and long-term impacts of the Gui-Guang Railway Project on the regional economy centred in and around Guizhou Province in China.

Midland Metro Phase 1, 2 ExtensionsDeveloped a highway model to test different options for enhancing area-wide transport usage with the proposed extensions. This was part of a multi-disciplinary project for Centro, the West Midland Passenger Transport Executive, promoting the five extensions to the Line One light rail system.Tested alternative solutions using a CUBE-based mode choice model, to analyse the mode shift variation of public and private users, as well as assessment of travel patterns along the proposed tram routes.Nottingham Bus Priority Schemes and Phase 1 Nottingham Express Transit (Extension Study using Nottingham Multi-Modal Model). Transport modeller in the enhancement of Nottingham bus priority schemes using CUBE/TRIPS software to modify and assess appropriate options in order to improve boarding/journey times and route/corridor development. Also used a SATURN model to evaluate the impacts of bus priority schemes on highway attributes as well as monitoring traffic congestion along major highway corridors. Useful data analysed included sub-area network and AM peak matrix, traffic count data, speed flow curves, and GIS files showing the network.Portsmouth Local Transport PlanSet transport targets for Portsmouth’s second Local Transport Plan (2006/2007 to 2010/2011) using preset performance indicators. In accordance with Department for Transport guidelines and existing trajectories, also produced guidelines for joint LTP targets for the Solent region which comprises Portsmouth, Isle of Wight, Southampton, Portsmouth City authorities and Hampshire County Council. The targets included traffic mileage, mode share, public transport provision as well as other safety, environmental and accessibility indicators.Co-authored Portsmouth Second Local Transport Plan which included setting targets and monitoring framework over a five-year period.
