DUI’s designs were used in the frigid waters of the North Sea for the Offshore Oil Industry and in Sea Lab II & III. DUI used the expertise we developed with commercial and military divers to help recreational divers improve their underwater experience by keeping them warm. Today DUI’s proprietary manufacturing technology has made the company a leader in thermal and environmental protection throughout the world.The accomplishments of Dick Long has played a key role in the evolution of diving. From the early 1960's, when Mr. Long was working with the Underwater Demolition Teams to provide longer-lasting underwater protection to his success as a consultant with SeaLab II to the offshore oil industry Dick Long provided solutions that allowed divers to remain underwater longer and to significantly increase their dive time. His patents have since become the industry standard. These breakthroughs have given divers the means to increase the depth and duration of their dives in the harshest of conditions. To this day, Mr. Long remains very active in testing, applying his extensive knowledge to the ongoing evolution of DUI's technology.
