Replaced an inefficient manual tape validation process with an automated batch and online system that incorporated VSAM file processing, batch Assembler programs, and online COBOL programs in a CICS environment. Designed, developed, documented, and supported this front end tape validation system. This new system significantly reduced tape validation processing time.

Concentrated on change controls, data access controls, end-user computing and disaster recovery. Initiated a bank-wide assessment of the impact of “Year 2000” focusing on the bank’s high risk applications.

• Participated in the full project life cycle activities of a major batch and online reservation system. The system was developed in an IBM MVS/ESA environment utilizing structured design methodology, CICS, DB2, Assembler, and COBOL II. Designed the logical database and created detailed technical specifications. Created and maintained DB2 tables, supported CICS regions and interfaced extensively with users. Ensured expected unit, functional, and user acceptance testing results.• Programmed, tested and implemented an on-line order entry system. Participated in user acceptance testing of new releases in the field. Applications were developed in IBM Series I environment using Series 1 Assembler.
