Dry Kiln/ Forecaster/Yard Supervisor

Dry Kiln supervision included the scheduling, drying, maintenance and improvements to the kilns. Responsible for five different length and four different makes of kilns. Dried lumber from two mills, a large log mill on site, and a small log mill off site. The lumber mix was dimension 2x4” to 2x12” from 8’ to 24’ long, both Douglas Fir and Hemlock. Ran both domestic and raft logs from Canada.Forecasting was accomplished by using information from the weekly sales/production meeting including width, length and grade priorities and developing the saw mill machine center pricing.Yard Supervisor responsibilities included lumber rotation, organization, cleanliness, storm and sewer drains, oil water separators and wash rack maintenance.
