He holds a BS degree in media/political science, a MA degree in journalism, and a PhD in Theatre Directing and Management. He has been a television news reporter for an ABC affiliate and a morning news anchor for an ABC radio affiliate. Dr Stafford has written six books of fiction and nonfiction, several stage plays and musicals, and over 100 magazine articles, including personal interviews with New York Times editor, Frank Rich, and playwrights Arthur Miller and Edward Albee. He was selected for a US Fulbright Teaching Scholarship and has traveled to 43 countries, including a five week journey to India sponsored by Rotary International. He has been honored five times as Professor/Teacher of the Year. In addition to a writer for Now Habersham, Stafford conducts corporate workshops and seminars and is a part-time writer for Edison Electric Institute, Washihgton, D.C. He is a YouTuber video producer focused on telling the stories of WWII veterans. Stafford also is a professor at Georgia State University and Young Harris College. His oldest son, Daniel, is an attorney, and is married to an attorney in New York. His younger son, Kirk, is married and lives in Atlanta. Kirk owns Caravan Public Relations in Atlanta. His wife, Brittany, is an international restaurant designer, boutique hotel designer and co-owner and founder of Source (Atlanta). Dick's wife Kristal is is a retired school principal. Currently, she is a full-time grandmother and traveler. The Stafford's have resided in Habersham County for thirty-five years. They have five grand children. -Now Habersham.com
