I am still working hard, having fun and making history, but I'm in a brand new building. In January of 2018, I was pulled to join a brand new team to launch the largest building in the Amazon Operations Network with the capability of storing over 35 million units. It has over 20 miles of conveyance, enough steel to build the Eiffel Tower twice, four floors of over 3,000 autonomous robots and the capability to process over 1 million customer shipments in a 24 hour period.

As an area manager at a new Amazon Robotics Quick Deploy facility, I have experienced all three of these facets during my tenure here. On a day to day basis, I am responsible for more than 50 associates' productivity and quality metrics, ensuring planned volumes are met and fulfilling customer experiences. This means coaching bottom performers to succeed, auditing quality defects to eliminate process barriers, structuring staffing to meet volume needs and utilizing a multitude of tools to track shipments as they move throughout the facility. These, combined with the rest of the responsibilities I have on a daily basis, make for a fast-paced environment that requires the ability to properly prioritize tasks and react quickly to major changes. Customer centricity doesn't always mean focusing on the end customer. It is also important to ensure the front line employees, the associates, are in an environment where they can succeed. This means ensuring all processes are safe, standardized and easy to follow. It also means constantly engaging the team to identify barriers, successes and talent that can be developed. Being a part of a leadership team at a new ARQD (Amazon Robotics Quick Deploy) facility is in itself making history. As a team, we are traveling a path in Amazon Operations that has never been travelled before. There are many nuances and challenges we encounter along the way that require a sense of creativity to overcome. This has provided me the opportunity to create new standards and processes that have been established building wide.

PhatRice Limited is a start-up e-commerce venture located in the heart of Hong Kong. They focus on connecting inspirational product developers with inspired buyers all over the world, enabling these developers to make a sustainable positive impact in these three areas: social good, environmental good, and design creativity. I worked under the product manager, researching and contacting various product developers and distributors to possibly add their line of products to the company's product catalog. I also assisted in editing and uploading product information using the Magento e-commerce platform. In addition, I attended various events and trade shows to aid in data collection and marketing. Throughout all these experiences, I gained a vast amount of knowledge concerning specialized B2B partnerships, entrepreneurial strategy and e-commerce marketing tactics.

During my time as a RZ Specialist at the Apple Retail Store in Syracuse, NY I assisted the sales team in attaining over $1,000,000 in product sales as well as created connections with many business clients in the central New York area. I have also assisted the inventory team in doing stock counts, delivering merchandise to customers, and creating merchandise return lists. Apple is dedicated to providing the best retail experience for it's customers and has taught me many customer service techniques that I use on a daily basis to increase overall customer satisfaction. My interactions with customers have also led to creating full solutions for their personal lifestyles or their professional business needs.

I was hired at the Philippine Seven Corporation as a summer intern to aid in their e-commerce project research. While interning for this company I did domestic and international e-commerce research with a team of interns to develop possible e-commerce opportunities and tactics within the Philippines. At the end of the internship my team and I presented our findings to the CEO and the lead MIS manager with information for surrounding countries' e-commerce platforms and possible modes of entry into Philippine e-commerce. It was a very enriching experience to conduct research on e-commerce in a developing country. To see different social patterns and lifestyle decisions that the general population made and how it differed from the normalities in the United States. Our research also shed light on how different other cultures and societies can react to business decisions made internationally.
