Senior Visual Designer
Senior Product Designer
Initially recruited as a UI designer, I was encouraged to further develop my UX skills, which quickly lead to taking on additional responsibility. This included research planning, user interviews, workshop facilitation, developing user journeys, and using quantitive data to help inform design solutions. As such I now lead UX design on a number of key logged-in spaces in the Engagement tribe, including the MoneySuperMarket app, dashboard, Credit Monitor, and CRM. As a UI designer, I am also responsible for contributing to the maintenance and development of our design system. A passionate champion for collaboration, I organise our weekly design critique sessions (Braintrust), lead our central UI guild, contribute to a ‘design ways of working’ group as well as mentor junior colleagues.

I work closely with UX designers, researchers, product owners, technology teams, commercial partners and many other passionate and talented people to create products of genuine value. Digital experiences and tools that help users to make sense of complex financial products, to help reduce their household bills, and empower them to take control of their finances and achieve their goals. During my time at MoneySupermarket, I've been fortunate enough to work on many high-profile products and projects such as MoneySavingExpert's Autoswitch tool, MoneySupermarket's Credit, Energy, and Car Monitor propositions, their rebrand and evolved visual identity project and a reimagined signed-in experience for their dashboard. In my time at MoneySupermarket, I've worked on car insurance, energy comparison, home insurance, authentication and borrowing.I work closely with product leaders to develop user flows, wireframes and concepts to validate early product discovery before creating high fidelity designs, with striking visuals based on a thorough understanding of user needs and usability heuristic principles. As a designer with a varied background in design, I'm able to also contribute skills in copywriting, illustration, and motion design. Due to the culture of constant improvement at MoneySupermarket I've been able to develop additional skills in research methodologies, user interviewing, mentorship and leadership as well as in faciliting collaborative ways of working

Sequre is a 'buyers agent', they source below market value buy to let properties for a range of clients. Sequre has a number of sister companies, all operating within the property sector. This includes an overseas arm for residential buyers, two estates and lettings agencies called Living Quarter and Ascend, a mortgage brokerage, and a property development company. Each company has a separate and distinct brand identity, which presents a great deal of variety and challenge. Our small team acts as a mini in-house agency. Design and digital journeysAs a small team, I am often a key part of developing campaign strategies which inform designs for lead generation and client communications from conception to execution. This includes designing:Client journeys across multiple channelsUser interfaces for multiple screens High converting landing pagesEmails Digital media such as banner ads, animated gifs, social media graphics, infographics IllustrationMotion graphics & video productionIdeation workshopsBrand Strategy I have used my time at Sequre to develop and refine brand strategies across some of the Sequre sister brands. For example, pivoting our overseas arm away from investors and developing it as a lifestyle brand. MentoringAs a more senior member of my current team, I am now working more closely with junior members to help them with their own ideas and taking more ownership of their projects. During a previous role, I was fortunate to work with a great manager who encouraged me to develop and execute my own ideas. I understand how important that was to my development as a designer.

Aylesworth Fleming is a long established advertising agency, specialising largely in the housing/property sector. I was brought on to the Aylesworth Fleming to fill the need for both new artwork and creative designer. The company has since been bought out by Oliver.ArtworkA large part of my role was producing artwork for brochures, signage, sitemaps, digital banner ads and email. These were based largely on templates and very strict brand guidelines. The artwork had very exact specifications, which helped me increase my technical knowledge of page layout, visual hierarchy and typography.CreativeThe other part of my role was to work with the creative team in generating new ideas for development names, brand identities, video, visual identities, social media campaigns, interior design and web design. These designs and creative campaigns would then be presented to the client and eventually passed onto the artwork team.
Graphic Designer
Asons were a legal practice specialising in personal injury, medical negligence and industrial disease claims. I joined the team as their first in-house designer. They were going through a huge period of growth and was a very exciting time for the company. I was responsible for the design and creative direction of the expanding services of Asons Solicitors. The company ceased trading in 2017.DesignWhen I began at Asons, they were implementing a new website design in order to be seen as more friendly and approachable. I saw this as the perfect opportunity to take this lighter and more approachable look and create a more consistent visual identity in the wider marketing communications. As with similar roles, I was designing for both print and digital, with a strong focus on digital content for SEO which included blog graphics, FAQs and long-form content such as infographics. UX Research and DesignDuring this time, I began taking a more active interest in user experience design while attending new community meetups and conferences. I was afforded great opportunities to develop my own ideas and side projects, and one of these included an increased focus on user research and implementing better user experiences. This included:Implementing usability heuristics Guerrilla testing Remote usability testing Heatmapping A/B and multivariate testing Brand Strategy Another side project was the development of a new brand strategy. This was inspired by reading Wally Ollins' book On Brand, while also noticing an inconsistency with the customer journey and overall brand experience. With ambitions to explore TV advertising on the horizon, I saw this as an excellent opportunity to solidify a more comprehensive brand strategy which had equal focus on internal brand building. The brand strategy was extremely well received, resulting in a promotion into a new position as Head of Communications with three members of staff to implement my strategy.
Designer & Marketing Officer
Brunel Franklin is a claims management company who specialise in PPI refunds. I began as the Marketing Officer, however, following the dismissal of the Designer/Developer, I quickly took over design related responsibilities due to previous experience.Design I was responsible for the design of all the printed materials and customer-facing collateral, which were required to be Ministry of Justice compliant, user-friendly and in plain English. I also created designs for landing pages for PPC campaigns, websites and branding for sister companies and marketing emails which also entailed A/B testing. PPC & SEO The majority of leads for Brunel Franklin were generated via PPC. A large part of this was undertaken by a partner agency who I worked closely with to design landing pages for. I also managed my own campaigns for more experimental ideas and sister brands. I also undertook responsibility for SEO which included: Keyword researchLink building Content creationOnsite technical SEOBlogging & Affiliate MarketingOne of the key projects I was charged with was the redevelopment and re-launch of a Money Saving Expert style blog. This included a redesign of the entire website, content review and new strategy for content distribution and audience growth on essentially no budget. Unbeknownst to me at the time, but I started to utilise UX research techniques such as prototyping, guerilla testing and usability research with colleagues, connections, and friends who fitted in with our target audiences. Other responsibilities included link building, guest posting, social media and general community building.
Project Coordinator
AsOne is a small design and marketing agency based in Hyde who works primarily with local SMEs. I joined the team as a Project Coordinator/Studio Manager. Project ManagementMy role was to manage the flow of work within the design studio from sales and brief to development and delivery. This involved being part of briefing meetings, review work before it went to Directors, and planning and prioritising what was worked on during the week. Studio Manager I managed communications between the studio, Directors, and clients. This involved liaising with clients to obtain content, send work for sign off and approval, training clients to use content management such as WordPress and Magento as well as passing on feedback and amends to the studio team. Copywriting and BloggingAs a passionate writer, I took the opportunity to write the companies blog posts and emails, and when required client copy for websites and marketing materials.
Marketing Officer & Graphic Designer
Bolton College is a Further and Higher Education provider. Bolton College has four distinct markets; 16-19 learners, work-based learning, community learning and adult learners. Marketing SupportAs the most junior member of the team, a large part of my role was assisting the Marketing Manager and Coordinator. DesignSoon after my appointment, it came to the attention of my manager that I had experience in design from my previous role. My responsibilities soon expanded to include the design of marketing collateral which enabled the department to produce more marketing materials to a higher, more consistent standard. This was very important to the department as the college had recently undergone a rebrand. I was first tasked with just designing internal communications, however as my skill set began to grow, I started to design print advertisements, brochures and exhibition banners. Digital I took responsibility for the college's website (which was being redesigned and built when I started) shortly after starting. This included managing the creation of copy and photography. I also spearheaded projects such as making the website more accessible for visually impaired and deaf users - this included BSL videos and ensuring pages were optimised for screen readers. I also developed the college's first social media strategy. Setting up and managing profiles on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Flickr, despite strong opposition from senior management.Community LeadI was placed in charge of marketing for the community sector. They had their own aims and objectives as well as their own unique challenges within their communities. It was my task to align their marketing efforts and objectives with the main college. Part of this was getting to know people in their locale and understand the challenges they faced, understand their offering and provide solutions which were aligned with the colleges brand, but also let the teams do their job as best they possibly could.
Mmunion - Publications Officer
Student Union of Manchester Metropolitan University, then known as MMUnion. The leadership of the student union was made up of a team of officers elected by the student body. Most are full time, while others part-time during their studies. In my third year, I was a part-time student union officer, this was a great experience and during my third year decided to run for a full-time position for the following year. While studying for my degree in my final year, I ran for and was successfully elected to the position of Publications Officer at MMU Student Union. PULP Editor The core responsibility of this position was the production of the student magazine, PULP. As a student, I was a regular contributor to the magazine.I worked with a large group of voluntary student writers, designers, and illustrators to produce a magazine every fortnight. This was quite challenging as their commitments to me were usually second or third to their studies, jobs and social lives. When I started I received basic training in the use of Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign and it was my job to take the words and designs of articles and stitch them together into a cohesive magazine which represented the views of 33,000 students. Student Representative As an elected student officer, I represented students on many boards and meetings within the university.MarketingI worked closely with the Marketing and Commerical services team to develop creative marketing campaigns to advertise the many services of the student union. I was also key in spearheading the development of a new website which represented the needs of students much more than the current design.
