I am positively disruptive and creatively disorganised. Let me explain…My disruptiveness stems from my dissatisfaction with inefficient health systems. It makes me look for innovative and effective ways of delivering service. The creatively disorganised streak allows me to function effectively in my different roles as a father, surgeon, photographer, teacher and gardener. I work as a Surgeon and Specialist in Change Management and System Design; providing advice in the design and implementation of efficient working and management systems. I recently led a team in the design and implementation of a new in-patient admission system for one of the major Teaching Hospitals in Ghana.I am an Executive Director in charge of Program Design at Elixir Healthcare Limited, a wholly owned Ghanaian entity which provides customised healthcare solutions to corporate bodies. I consult for the Quality AssuranceDepartment of the National Health Insurance Authority as an External Clinical Consultant for its periodic audits of health facilities across the country. I previously served on the Governing Council of the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons, the local board for post-graduate Medical Education as a Resident's RepresentativeSharing knowledge excites me, hence my current role as an e-Tutor with Edinburgh University, UK in its MSc Surgical Science Program and a Course Instructor with the Medical and Surgical Skills Institute, Korle-bu. My previous roles in the academic work space includes a Part-time Lecturer Position in the Department of Surgery and Faculty of Allied Health Sciences University of Development Studies, Tamale. In the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, I contributed to the development of the curriculum for the Nurse Practitioner program. I have volunteered in previous years as the Prison's Doctor for the Tamale Central Prisons where through partnerships we were able to established an infirmary and new sanitation system for the inmates. I have worked as a Volunteer Surgeon for the Dr Abdulai's Shekkinah Clinic for the Poor. I am currently exploring volunteer activity in Basic Science/ Surgery education across West AfricaI have a diverse educational background; training at the Ghana Stock Exchange in the Securities and Investment Course, an MSc in Surgical Science at Edinburgh University and a Commonwealth Scholar with an MSc in Professional Practice, Medical Leadership from CETAD, Lancaster University.
