As a Camille & Henry Dreyfus Environmental Chemistry Mentor, my scholarly research is focused on the study of the interaction of light and matter to create better solutions for solar energy conversion: employing femtosecond stimulated Raman spectroscopy (FSRS) and ultrafast transient absorption to investigate the photoinduced charge transfer dynamics of photocatalysts and molecular constructs on the femtosecond to picosecond timescales.

Founded Northwestern University’s first entry (40+ students) to the Dept. of Energy's Solar Decathlon, a competition in October 2017 that showcased innovative solar powered houses designed, built, and operated by collegiate teams from around the world. Recruited world-class sponsors and brought together schools and units across campus to win 1st Place in Market Potential, 1st Place in Communications, and 3rd Place in Engineering.

Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the center ($4mm annual budget, 20 faculty, 90 graduate and postdoctoral students), the setting and implementation of ANSER’s strategic goals, and the development of partnerships with external industry and education stakeholders.The ANSER Center was founded in July of 2007 to create a joint research effort at Northwestern University and Argonne National Laboratory with selected groups from Yale University, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and the University of Chicago in the area of solar energy conversion and solar fuels production.

Co-founded global consortium with 14+ academic and industry member institutions behind the goal of commercializing renewable energy storage solutions, sustainable fuel generation, and carbon utilization technologies. Directing the development and implementation of the SOFI Knowledge Map, assembly of a global commercialization accelerator network, and coordination of interdisciplinary research collaborations.
