As a pensionado since more than 6 years Dick has retired from active projects. He and his wife Nelleke are looking forward to enjoying their children and grandchildren, while supporting them in their lives and personal development. Dick is still active as secretary for BBOS, and as a volunteer for Haiti projects. Life is focusing on private and personal development and relaxation; the circle of influence is closing, slowly but irresistibly.

The group was developing a software tool for the calculation of various scenarios of ecological forestry. The calculations should support the business case of a large scale investment at an existing plantation. I developed an extended Excel application where hundreds of parameters can be analyzed, ranging from tooling to species growth data, staffing, monitoring facilities, location, size and expansion rate. We collaborated in a small team of forestry expert, operational testing and financial expertise, while managing the project through Skype meetings.
