I love to inspire, educate, empower and support business owners to be amazing and create their own success.My journey as a business owner started in January 2003. I was a solo mum of two beautiful daughters aged 8 and 5, one of who has some significant health challenges. At the time, I was working two jobs, one of which was doing the books for a plumbing firm. This sparked an idea, and in March of that year, after just moving in with my now hubby, I promptly told him I was wanting to quit the secure jobs and give this business lark a darn good go. Luckily he could see my vision and supported me 100%. Brave man!My small bookkeeping business grew organically over this time, and although I was super busy, I quickly got a bit bored doing the day to day data entry work day in and day out. At this point, I made a conscious decision to make a REAL business out of what I was doing and become an entrepreneur. What I didn’t realise was that I had already been an entrepreneur (albeit one in training) for the past two years…There was a distinct change in mindset and that was the start of an incredible journey for Ontrack Bookkeeping, and especially for myself as a business owner. I started employing staff, and had to totally teach myself what it was I needed to know about managing and running a company. The first few staff came … then went … and it took a while to figure it all out and find my groove as a people manager. I have built and fostered an amazing caring, sharing, supportive team culture within my business, which enables my team to make decisions autonomously, get on and get the job done, and not have to be micromanaged. This allowed me to follow my passions and to continue in my volunteer role as President of the Institute of Certified NZ Bookkeepers Association (ICNZB) where I could support and inspire bookkeepers around NZ. I have a huge passion for empowering and supporting others, sharing knowledge and inspiring others so all business owners are enabled to be the best the best version of a successful business owner they can be.
