She is an accomplished media and communications professional with extensive experience working in television, radio, text and digital for the BBC, CNBC Europe, CNBC Africa and Reuters. She is also the Founder of REAP, a media production and communications strategy firm. Didi Akinyelure won the prestigious BBC World News Komla Dumor Award. She also received the University of Nottingham's Special Excellence Alumni Laureate Award. Didi has built an impressive career as a Moderator and Speaker. She has chaired high level panels at the United Nations in Geneva, the GECF Summit, Africa Oil Week, Africa CEO Forum, London Business School, Africa Construction Week, Future Energy, Nottingham University, West Africa Property Investment Summit, WimBiz, Lagos Kano Economic Summit, Lagos State Stakeholder Engagement on Real Estate Business, Africa Women Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum, and the BBC Africa Debate amongst others. Didi presented the CNBC International television series "IOT: Powering the Digital Economy" and presented "Living on the Edge" on the BBC World Service, a radio series focused on the impact of climate change on communities around the world. She has presented, produced and edited television, radio and digital content for the BBC News at 10, BBC World News, BBC In Business Africa, BBC Focus on Africa, BBC’s Business Daily, BBC’s Newsday, and the BBC World Service. Her BBC report on Female Entrepreneurship in Nigeria, was nominated in the World Bank Women Entrepreneurs Reporting category at the One World Media Award. Didi Akinyelure is also the Founder / Creative Director of April & Alex, a London-based sustainable womenswear brand featured in Vogue, Elle, Harpers Bazaar, Marie Claire, Tatler and more. She is on the advisory board of ImpactHER, an impact driven NGO that seeks to empower African female entrepreneurs by bridging the gender business financing gap so as to help African female entrepreneurs realize their full economic potential.
