I am passionate about connecting people with nature through a variety of educational experiences, from field trips to workshops/symposia to special events. At the Land Conservancy, I have enhance long established programs, as well as created a suite of nature-based learning opportunities for people of all ages. I strive to weave nature education into all aspects of programming, firmly believing that a deep understand of our natural world leads to a lifelong commitment to its protection.

Throughout The United States

I've served on the NAA Board of Directors for 12 years. Each year, I was very involved in the planning of their annual conference, working very closely with conference planning teams throughout the Unites States. In 2016, I was elected Secretary of the Board, documenting board meetings with detailed minutes. I currently chair their Financial Sustainability Committee as a non-board member.

Cleveland/Akron, Ohio Area

My position evolved over two decades as the Natural Areas Division and Botany Department grew from two employees to six full time, 5 part time, and several seasonal employees, as well as a team of volunteers. I managed a fast pace office; fielding communications, assisting with fundraising and maintaining finances. Additionally, I supervised the personnel of the division, conducting performance reviews and overseeing day-to-day activities. Our main goal was managing a system of nature preserves totaling over 10,000 acres. The Museum’s preserves span from Kelleys Island to the Pennsylvania border. We worked to keep these natural areas biologically diverse through invasive plant control, restoration, inventory programs and conservation outreach efforts. I marketed the activities of natural areas through a mix of printed pieces, websites and social media.
