For more than 15 years I’ve been exploring this fascinating universe which has become a passion in my life. The project management.Since the beginning of my career, I have already worked at the entire project management lifecycle since it´s initiation (idea evaluation and feasibility studies), until the execution and final results analysis/control. During that time I acquired great know how in new product developments and in the tooling needed for a good project from that type. (Product Requirement Definition and characteristics critical to quality, risk management, FRACAS, DFMEA). As I was aways concerned with the excellence in my projects, I pursued constant improvement of my capabilities, reaching the PMP certification and adopting the more up to date methodologies for managing my projects, for instance, Agile, Scrum and Kanban.Since I gained more experience I naturally migrated to large scale projects, focusing on strategy and innovation. Because of that I also started to report directly to the company's senior management (Vice presidency and Presidency). In addition, due to the high project demand, with the support of my senior leadership, I established the Project Management Office for Latin America, being nominated from that moment on as PMO Leader for LATAM.The dedication was extensive, but the outcomes were extraordinary. The PMO team carried out 31 projects in 3 years bringing 100 million dollars in business for the company. Also, we received several prizes being the most important of them the “President Awards” for a record project introduction time (6 months instead of 2 years) of an innovative product that increases 40% the company share at that business A key point for all this success was the use of lean manufacturing technics and rigid KPIs control (i.e: FPY, FPY, cycle time, NPV, IRR, payback, QDC) to manage efficiently all projects in our pipeline.Today I work as engineering manager and project manager simultaneously, aways seeking to my team members development. This is translated in our numbers, as after I assumed the engineering team we archive together, after only one year, a reduction in 90% in our design failure rate and increase team's engagement rate, going from 74% to 85%.
