Leading the development of the new External Manager Monitoring and Evaluation program. The program's objective is to retain an aligned roster of external managers, for CalPERS $90 billion external managed portfolio, by integrating best practice monitoring and evaluation tools and processes to ensure a consistent and transparent system that results in reduced risk, cost, and complexity and help achieve strategic investment goals.Serves in a lead capacity for the Investment Manager Engagement Programs (formerly known as Targeted Investment Programs), overseeing key initiatives for all asset classes such as emerging and transition managers and California investment initiatives. Developed the new Emerging and Transition Manager 2020 Plan focused on six key initiatives that are intended to maintain CalPERS leadership in the emerging and transition manager strategies. Key objectives include leading two global solicitations, in collaboration with participating asset classes, seeking qualified candidates for the up to $7 billion Transition Manager Program.Member of the CalPERS Investment Office Operating Committee, which oversees operational risk management for the Investment Office. The Committee governs efforts to identify, prioritize and mitigate significant operational risks related to CalPERS investment process. Member of the CalPERS Investment Office Diversity and Inclusion Steering Committee, which assists in setting the agenda and managing change on all matters related to diversity and inclusion. Co-led the admissions process at Sacramento High School, and developed admissions policies.Taught college preparedness techniques, character building, and life skills to high school studentsSt. HOPE improved communities through its holistic community development approach, creating businesses and jobs, and establishing an art and cultural center and a public school system.
