Diego Piserà (M), Research & Innovation Engineer, MSc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Genoa. He is a researcher at algoWatt S.p.A. and he is attending Ph.D. executive program at the University of Genoa (program in Sciences and Technologies for Electrical Engineering), previously he was a trainee at INESC TEC in the Power & Energy division. The backbone of his research is the application of analytical and heuristic methods to optimize the planning and operation of low-carbon power systems. His research interests focus on technologies that enable demand response of the distributed flexibility (renewable energy sources, electric vehicles, energy storage heating and cooling systems, etc.). He is currently dealing with national and European research projects concerning methodologies and technological aspects for the implementation of Virtual Power Plants (VPP) and IT tools to manage Energy Communities.
