Geologist for HighGold Mining Inc. at the gold rich poly-metallic Johnson Tract Project in south central Alaska.

Core logging, sampling, and section drafting.- Geotechnical logging; oriented core.- Assisting in sample preparation, QAQC, and shipping.- XRF analysis of sample pulps and rock samples.- Geologic mapping and reporting- Sampling: chip, grab, float, stream sediment, soil.- Experience in and around helicopters; receiving and sending sling loads; safety.- Skid steer forklift operation.- Radio communication.- Drill pad construction- Ability to work long shifts in remote camp setting.

Contract role completing exploratory diamond drill program in the west-central Abitibi Greenstone Belt, Ontario, Canada.Tasks including but not limited to:- Core logging and associated interpretation, reporting, and data plotting.- Field mapping / prospecting, compilation and reporting.- Geotechnical work with drill core; oriented core.- Digital entry and management of drill log, field data, and sample data.- General program support work.

La Plata project, Colorado, USA.- Established office and core processing facility- Assisted with underground channel chip sampling.- Diamond drill core logging/processing. RQD, sample QAQC, logging, oriented core, assay interpretation, sawing, sample prep, and shipment.- Soil and rock chip sampling, prep, and shipment.- Proficient at GPS hardware and competent with GIS software (ESRI ArcGIS Pro):- Digitized geologic maps, compiled geochemical results and tenement data.- Completed helicopter supported claim staking program.

This internship with Nevada Gold Mines at the Goldstrike Open Pit operation allowed me to have an in depth look into the production strategies of a major gold mining company. I was primarily exposed to mine geology but had great opportunities to explore other departments to get a well rounded understanding of the workflow and integration. The program exceeded my expectations and it was an amazing experience to have as an undergraduate student.My summer long project involved using Leapfrog software and televiewer data to enhance the geometry and orientations of major ore controlling structures in the Goldstrike open pit to understand trends in gold grades to assist with future targeting and infill drilling.
