Working at Conaway Geomatics Inc. is an enriching experience. As a Land Surveying Intern, I take on the role of learning under instruction and then applying what I have learned to complete projects with more independence.So far, I have learned how to prepare Ownership & Easement Exhibits, process and prepare Topographic Maps, Map Boundary Lines, and package Projects in a well-organized manner for our field crews and/or clients.Ownership & Easement Exhibit: -Documents or visual representations depicting the ownership rights and easements associated with a particular piece of property, providing clarity and transparency regarding the rights and responsibilities of property owners and any parties with easement rights.My tasks include:-Assessing Parcel Maps and Legal Exceptions to draft the Property Lines, Road Centerlines, Property Setbacks, and Property Easements.-Populating the Project's Title Sheet with flood information, zoning & setback information, legal descriptions, and legal exceptions.Topographic Maps: -Showcases the physical features and terrain characteristics of a particular area, providing essential information for various purposes, including urban planning, land development, and outdoor recreation.My tasks include:-Using Trimble Business Center (TBC) to import data points captured from the field.-Processing the data points and making necessary adjustments like adding more points or removing faulty ones. -Importing the TBC project to Civil 3D and adding linework and labels for the data points.-Following company procedures to make the topographic map presentable.
