Laboratory Operations Manager
Current• Approval and control of operational practices• Establish the competence of staff undertaking work and their ongoing participation in continuing training and development.• Authorisation of staff to perform specific activities.• Supervising and managing laboratory staff (data sciences and field) as well as mentoring and supporting junior technicians and trainees• Monitor and undertake regular reviews of the facility’s internal quality control and proficiency testing/ quality assurance data, the methods used and results generated• Dealing with technical queries from staff regarding all relevant aspects of the facility’s testing operations• Reviewing customer specifications and overseeing the development and/or introduction of any new test procedures or technical processes;• Identify and pursue business development opportunities and potential income streams• Co-ordinate and communicate testing schedules, methods, procedures and results with staff and clients • Prepare and issue of test results and invoices to clients or our team of consulting engineers• Review, implement and maintain compliance to ISO 9001:2018 Quality Management System, ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System and ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health and Safety Management System• Manage and maintain calibration and maintenance schedules for Laboratory equipment• Ensure compliance with State and National Work Health and Safety Legislation and relevant State Worksafe through company policies and procedures.• Be involved in the recruiting and screening of potential laboratory staff.
