About Diego Gonzalez Portillo

As a Senator at the George Washington University Student Association, I represent and serve the interests of over 27,000 students, especially those of Latino origin as myself, to represent those voices that do not feel heard. I collaborate with fellow Senators and student government officers to propose, draft, and review legislation aimed at improving student experiences, enhancing campus resources, and fostering a supportive learning environment. I also assist in organizing and coordinating career expos and networking events tailored to not only business school students but all of GW, partnering with employers, alumni, and career services. Pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Marketing Strategy and Analytics, which enables me to apply my analytical mindset and data-driven approach to financial and strategic decision-making. I am also passionate about sustainability and innovation, and have led and participated in various initiatives to promote eco-friendly practices, diversity and inclusion, and creative problem-solving within the university community. I have completed a pre-college summer program in artificial intelligence at Brown University, which has enhanced my technical and creative abilities. My future goals include expanding my knowledge in business, making a positive impact on organizations through financial acumen and data-driven marketing strategies, and interconnecting sustainability within the corporate world.
