After moving from Snamprogetti to DNV in the UK, I was mostly involved in consultancy projects that gave me the possibility to develop my interpersonal relations as well as my technical compentencies. The expertise areas I focussed on are Quantified Risk Assessment, with particular skills in consequence modelling (especially fires and explosions) and genericallly in Hazards Identification and managing through the application of several techniques such as HAZOPs, HAZID, SIL assessment, LOPA, Bow-Tie analysis

Main tasks and responsibilities HAZOP & HAZID studies: scribe, HSE specialist for fire&gas detection. HAZOP of Taranto’s Refinery, QATOFIN Low Density Polyethylene plant FMEA of Gasification & Combined Cycle Power Plant.Activity performed in Ningbo, China, at SNEC offices, as FMEA chairman and following RAM analysis . Modeling of the plant, using OREDA database for equipment failure rates and maintenability data.SIL: Knowledge of relevant EU Standard IEC-61508 and IEC-61511Hazardous Area Classification: preparation of HAC reports, according to IP15, API, CEI-60079-10 standardsFire & Gas: Preparation of Philosophies and Specifications for the choice, location, and installation of fire&gas detectors, for most Snamprogetti's contracts (Khurais GOSP & Utilities Plants, Qatofin LLDPE Plant, Ruwais, Bandar Abbas Gas Condensate Refinery Project, Samir Upgrade Project). Preparation of plot plans with fire & gas detectors and related alarm devices positioning.
