- Working refactoring the embedded code for their main traffic controller “Cobalt” and “2070”using C++11 standards. This controller uses embedded Linux with real time patch with a Freescale PowerPc processor. Also working as Software Architect for the new design of their controllers and cabinets “ITS” and “ATCC”, specifically the cabinet Input/Output, log events and user interface, these tasks were accomplished using design patterns for readability, maintainability and scalability, efficient data structures search algorithms with low memory overhead for embedded systems and class diagrams for documentation and using Gerrit (Git) for version control and Jenkins for continuous integration.- Worked as a Design Architect to install a system to provide versioning control (Gerrit) with continuous integration (Jenkins) in Linux machines, This architecture includes the deployment of DNS server to provide name resolution for Jenkins slaves. Also deployed multiple virtual machines (Jenkins slaves) to provide parallel processing for continuous integration in order to improve performance. All of the deployed architecture was scripted using TCL in that way the system can be deployed in any Linux environment automatically.
- Layout software requirements, architecture and documentation for all the projects managed by the company.- GPS Device for Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (2012-Dec/2014-Mar): Developed all the software for a GPS device that tracks the position where accidents happen. The software uses a custom algorithm to improve location accuracy and Assisted GNSS. The GPS connects via internet/cellular radio to a Linux server to update GPS coordinates, for this server, also developed all the Linux socket server in C++11 which attends GPS requests and updates a database based on its location, where a web site shows the location in a map, this server was mounted in Amazon EC2 Cloud Services. Also the Linux socket server was implemented with C++ Object Relational Mapping ODB to update MySQL database to store location information.- VMT (Vehicle Miles Tracking) (2013-Dec/2015-Mar): Developed all software for a system (two devices: OBD and gateway) that connects to the On Board Diagnosis (OBD) port in a vehicle and reads speed and other engine status in order to send this collected data through a Zigbee wireless network to a Zigbee gateway which connects through cellular network and uploads data on a server, where data can be accessed over internet. This system is needed by Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) in order to collect the amount of driven miles in electric cars. The embedded devices were programmed using Keil RTX RTOS in C++11, and the server code/networking was implemented in C++11/Mysql.- Developed and Managed multiple 3 tier systems (C++11 business layer) for Nevada Department of Transportation- Development of a Business Intelligent Solution using Oracle BI for Nevada Department of Transportation. Some of the accomplished tasks were contributing architecting the ETL and start schema data warehouse, develop, evaluated and integrated in BI system multiple regression and classification statistical models using R. Lead QA and integration teams.
