I am a former journalist turned entrepreneur specialized in technology and innovation policy. I excel at translating tech companies' most significant ethical and safety challenges into simple messages that stakeholders and decision-makers can easily understand.I'm currently Global Communications Specialist at the United Nations' Better Than Cash Alliance.I can explain and offer policy recommendations to tackle the most sensitive questions raised by cutting-edge technologies such as A.I., Web 3.0, digital payments, social media content moderation, personalised advertising, digital safety, autonomous vehicles, A.R. & V.R., quantum computing, cryptocurrencies and NFTs. I founded of Fáctico, a technology startup that develops projects that promote freedom of speech and citizen engagement. I managed a team that created the most prominent citizen-journalism digital platform in Latin America: Supercívicos, an app & community of over 70,000 citizens that received awards from MIT, Citi, & WSA and support from Wayra & MassChallenge business accelerators. I have experience fundraising, managing tech and journalism teams, and a strong network of contacts in media, NGOs, governments and startups. In July 2017, I was selected as part of the Future Leaders Connect Initiative by the British Council. As part of this program's activities, I got the opportunity to share the stage with the former president of Mexico, Ernesto Zedillo, and former U.N. Secretary Ban Ki-moon during an event with The Elders. I argued in favour of governments' need to produce more open data and push standards to allow civil society, NGOs, and entrepreneurs to create projects and evidence-based policies that could positively impact our communities.
