Diego Monterroso is a Guatemalan creative social entrepreneur, researcher, and consultant. He is the co-founder of Abunda, a venture that offers decentralized financial services for sending money through blockchain technology. Additionally, he founded Donkey Pinatas, an export business that manufactures foldable piñatas.His last experience was managing projects at Alterna NGO to promote the inclusion and development of Small Growing Businesses in vulnerable conditions in the Mesoamerican region.He has also held positions in the Guatemalan public sector as the chief of staff at the Vice-Ministry of Investment within the Ministry of Economy. Prior to entering the public sector, he had the opportunity to work as an independent consultant in economic affairs at the Center for Economic Research of Guatemala –CIEN– and the Foundation for Development of Guatemala -FUNDESA-. Additionally, he gained valuable insights from gremial organizations while serving as the Senior Market Researcher at the Guatemalan Exporters Association –AGEXPORT–.
