- Leading a team responsible for delivering desktop and embedded software on multiple platforms to support high volume manufacturing of ecobee's products.- As acting product lead, I champion agile and Lean Six Sigma management practices to optimize value delivery, increase organizational capability and performance, and create a culture of continuous improvement.- Greatly expanded observability of the manufacturing process by implementing automated metrics collection with multi-level dashboards.- Responsible for overseeing a fleet of over 70 production test stations across 6 product lines and 2 different contract manufacturers.- Passionate about people development and growth, improved retention and engagement by rolling out 1:1s and skill matrices for my org.

Led a team composed of ~50 developers and testers responsible for two suites of Windows products including CaseWare’s flagship, “Working Papers”. Tech stacks: Windows/C++/C#/MFC and JavaScript/HTML/CSS. Responsible for hiring, mentoring and coaching of staff.- Increased stakeholder and development team engagement by successfully transitioning to the Scrum model.- Worked closely with product management to build out roadmaps and plan annual releases.- Modernized a legacy desktop application by transitioning to a hybrid desktop-Cloud solution. This helped support strong customer retention through successful migration of the core customer base to the Cloud.- Increased product reliability and reduced defects by introducing modern development practices including static software analysis, test-driven development (TDD) and continuous integration.- Significantly improved collaboration, quality and team engagement by leading an effort to move source code (approximately 5 million lines) from TFS to Git.

Supported a team of 6 developers responsible for a word processor component, which was in turn integrated into the larger Working Papers engagement software.- Introduced peer code reviews, which increased code quality and promoted cross-training.- Improved code quality and staff retention by introducing modern C++ 11 concepts into the code base.

Developed new features and fixed defects in a key component of the company’s flagship Windows application, a word processor with spreadsheet capabilities.- Introduced multi-threading to a monolithic desktop application.- Designed a process for capturing debugging information from customer’s systems for later analysis. Process was eventually standardized across entire team, resulting in quicker defect assessment, quality and customer satisfaction.- Significantly expanded technical documentation for the product using UML diagrams and an online CMS.

As Lead Developer, participated in design and implementation of multi-platform, multi-threaded multimedia authoring environment software built for Windows and Macintosh in C++.
