For RFIs, RFPs, RFQs and tender responses/proposals, I work on the initial technical and commercial analysis of the project's general concept and on its specific requirements. I then move to the definition of the proposed solution, from high-level design to single devices/components identification, collecting quotes from all the relevent technology.
