collective HUMMM is a platform for Strategic Conceptual Design @ the front end of projects for architecture, urban design + place-making. Currently, our focus has concentrated on recording studios and performance venues for Apple, Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group and others, worldwide.

9-month contract as Project Design Lead, Design Culture Motivator• Cultivated Design Culture, mentor and develop a gifted and diverse design team in this small, fledgling office of RTKL w/ 20+ global staff (Egypt, Argentina, Saudi Arabia, India, Iran, Germany, the UK and US)• Design Team Lead for “Riverland”, the Retail Dining + Entertainment District (RD+E) of the new Meraas Dubai Theme Park. Riverland will act as the Hub, welcoming all visitors to the attraction boasting no less than three separate theme parks (motiongate Dubai, Bollywood Parks Dubai, Legoland Dubai). Key staff for the RD+E included, Khalda El Jack (Saudi Arabia), Sruthy Sukumaran (India), Natalia LIzarraga (Argentina), Michael Wiegmann and John Roberts (both US). In concert with Laith Wark's team at Verdaus Landscape Architecture, and working at a break-neck pace, this wonderfully diverse and talented team developed a successful conceptual design for the architecture and urban design for large and vital "urban" hub. Based at the CUDC (The College of Architecture and Environmental Design’s community outreach arm based in downtown Cleveland), I was the resident Graduate Studio Instructor for Architecture + Urban Design. As Director for the CUDC (The College of Architecture and Environmental Design’s community outreach arm based in downtown Cleveland) I was the chief administrator overseeing a staff of seven. Duties included:- Annual Reviews + salary adjustments- Reporting to the College Administration and faculty- Annual Grant applications- Developing a Strategic Plan in response to budget cuts- Representing the CUDC and College in public forums

In addition to responding to design issues of the area on behalf of the AIA, I led the planning for the AIA Cleveland Design Awards for 2007, held at Coop Himmelb(l)au’s just completed Akron Art Museum and featuring Mehrdad Yazdani as chief juror and keynote speaker.

Studio Instructor for 3rd + 4th-year I also acted as the 4th year coordinator.I taught Architectural Theory in partnership with Donald Kunze.

While teaching as an Assistant Professor of Architecture at Penn State University, I renewed my connection with Robert Loversidge, Prinicpal at Schooley Caldwell Associates. I provided digital modeling and rendering assistance to their practice.

Working as Design Architect, under Design Principal, BJ Artup, I also acted as Project Manager for works that include:- Delaware County 20/20 Master plan; Delaware, OH1998 NATIONAL ACHEIVEMENT AWARD, in partnership with Schooley Caldwell Associates, plan for expansion and economic development of this small college town; home to Ohio Wesleyan University- Chemical Abstracts Service, Inc.; Columbus, OHExpansion of this 1960’s campus adjacent to the Olentangy River near Ohio State University- South Side Christian Church; Lima, OHDesign lead for the new sanctuary, classrooms and fellowship hall

I worked for Todd Lee and Santiago Rozas on two separate occasions; just out of graduate school and then returning in the mid-90’s. Working as Mr. Lee’s Second for Design Development, I was also Project Manager for projects that include:- Sheraton Boston Hotel & Towers Restoration; Boston, MAA top-down restoration of the hotel located in the 1964 Prudential Tower, the 2nd-tallest building in Boston designed by Charles Luckman and Associates- Doubletree Suites - Times Square; New York, N.Y. Renovations to this existing hotel on Times Square- Zinc, Restaurant; Boston, MAConceptual design for an elegant, up-scale bistro in Boston’s Back-Bay- Gleneagles Resort @ Lake Placid; Lake Placid, New York. I assisted in the planning and design for Gleneagles Development’s ambitious revitalization and expansion of the historic Lake Placid Club on Mirror Lake in Lake Placid, New York. Created in 1895 by Melvil Dewey (inventor of the Dewey Decimal system) it had been instrumental in Lake Placid's development, becoming an internationally-known resort that, by the 1980’s, had fallen on hard times. Arson, unfortunately, brought the demise of both the redevelopment project and the Lake Placid Club itself. The final buildings that remained were demolition in 2002.

I taught an Undergraduate Honors course in Aesthetics and a 4th-year architectural design studio utilizing 16mm film as a design tool.

Upon my return to Ohio from working from working in Europe, I was delighted to discover that Fitch had acquired a local company to create Fitch/Richardson-Smith. I worked on several retail commissions that included: - Vinyl Products Showroom for Armstrong World Industries; Lancaster, PA- A new Premier Branch Bank Prototype; New Orleans, LA- New Trade Show Environment for Lee Jeans

Beginning with illustration work for the Museum for Juan Miro project (Palma de Mallorca, Spain), the rigor of my architectural tasks increased in parallel to my Spanish fluency. My work included:- KURSAAL Cultural Center (San Sebastian, Spain) development of architectural plan + detailing work on the cast-glass, double-glazed curtain wall system.- Museum for the Thyssen Collection (Madrid, Spain) detail design studies for the 6 large, north-facing skylight monitors that flood the interior w/ controlled daylight

I worked as an architectural designer on staff on several large commissions: the Prudential Office Tower + Mall in Uxbridge and the transit center for the new Leeds Centre Shopping Mall in Leeds; both in the U.K. Concurrently, I was completing my studies at the Staatliche Hochschule für Bildende Künste (the Städelschule Art Academy) in Frankfurt-am-Main, Germany.

After working on an addition to the Don Hisaka-designed library at Wright State University for John Ruetschle & Associate, I moved to Boston for graduate school and worked for the Master himself. As an apprentice, I worked on the CD's for the Class-A office buidling in Washington DC at 1150 18th Street, N.W.
