My primary responsibility was to ensure the smooth running of day-to-day operations, which included various tasks contributing to the overall success of the company.This included overseeing the production process, from project development to final delivery, as well as managing financial matters such as budgeting and forecasting. I was also responsible for ensuring that our team worked together effectively and for creating a supportive working environment that encouraged creativity and innovation.

I was responsible for ensuring that our company complied with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. This encompassed intellectual property protection, contract negotiation and dispute resolution, as well as managing any potential legal risks that might arise.A significant part of my role involved negotiating and drafting agreements with various stakeholders such as broadcasters, platforms, European and US talent, and cast and crew members.In addition to contract matters, I managed all legal aspects of the film and audiovisual production process. This included addressing any copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property issues that arose, as well as navigating the complexities of international law when working on cross-border productions.To ensure the smooth operation of our legal department, I coordinated and supervised the legal team, providing guidance and support as needed. This involved establishing clear lines of communication and fostering a collaborative working environment that was aligned with our company's goals and objectives.I also played a critical role in the development and implementation of internal company policies covering areas such as privacy, harassment, and other key issues that could impact our company's reputation and legal standing.Collaboration with other departments was also essential to my role as Head of Legal. I worked closely with teams such as finance, human resources, and marketing to ensure that all company activities complied with applicable laws and regulations. This might have included providing legal advice, reviewing promotional materials, or ensuring that employee contracts complied with relevant labour laws.

My lectures at the Production Course at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia covered a wide range of topics, including intellectual property, media, and entertainment law, with a particular focus on the conception, financing, production, and distribution of films and television series. I also covered major tax issues, such as tax credits, and employment law considerations to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the legal aspects of the film and television industry.

When I was Head of Legal at FremantleMedia Italy - producer of entertainment and current news programs - I had a wide range of responsibilities to ensure that the company complied with relevant laws, regulations and contractual obligations.One of my primary responsibilities was to oversee the drafting, review and negotiation of various agreements related to the production, distribution and licensing of content. I handled contracts with talent such as actors, directors, writers, contestants, talent and other crew members, as well as co-production agreements, content acquisition, format licensing and rights management.I also managed intellectual property rights, which included trademark registrations, copyright filings and defending against infringement claims. I was responsible for ensuring that the company's content complied with established censorship and age-restriction guidelines in the various jurisdictions in which the content was distributed.Another critical aspect of my role was to provide legal advice and guidance on various aspects of content creation to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. I helped mitigate potential legal risks associated with the production and distribution of audiovisual content, advising on issues such as defamation, privacy and right of publicity.As Head of Legal, I also liaised with outside counsel, regulators and industry associations to stay abreast of the latest legal developments, trends and best practices in the entertainment and information sectors. This enabled me to proactively address potential legal challenges and ensure that the company's business strategies were aligned with the evolving legal landscape.

As an associate at Legance, I focused on advising clients on a wide range of regulatory and contractual issues. My work involved providing legal advice on matters related to terrestrial and satellite broadcasting, antitrust issues, multiplatform content distribution, TV advertising, transactional TV (game shows, teleshopping, etc.), content exploitation, copyright protection, personal data protection, Internet, e-commerce, video games, cinema and more. During my time at Legance, I was able to build a strong foundation of legal knowledge and expertise in these areas. I found it particularly rewarding to work with clients in the media and entertainment industry, helping them navigate complex legal issues and protect their intellectual property rights. One of the most fulfilling aspects of my role was the opportunity to work closely with clients, building relationships based on trust and mutual respect. During my time at Legance, I had the privilege of working closely with Gilberto Nava, a seasoned legal professional. Gilberto's wealth of knowledge and experience in media and entertainment law was truly inspiring, and I learned a great deal from him. Looking back on my time at Legance, I am proud of my work. I learned a lot during my time there and am grateful for the experience. I was able to gain invaluable insight into the industry, as well as the legal and business issues that arise in this fast-paced and ever-evolving field.

When I was very young, I started working as an associate at Portolano [Colella] Cavallo, where I focused on advising clients on a wide range of regulatory and contractual issues. My work included advising on issues related to terrestrial and satellite broadcasting, antitrust issues, multiplatform content distribution, TV advertising, transactional TV (game shows, teleshopping, etc.), content exploitation, copyright protection, personal data protection, Internet, e-commerce, video games, cinema and more.During my time at Portolano Cavallo, I learned the value of a strong work ethic that has stayed with me throughout my career. I had the opportunity to work with some huge multinational companies, which was an exciting experience. Many of the people I worked with at Portolano Cavallo have become some of my closest friends. I am grateful for this experience.

I had the incredible opportunity to work in the legal department of Fox, then a legendary company known for its extraordinary achievements and indelible impact on Italian audiovisual production. My time at Fox has left a lasting impression on me, as I was fortunate to be part of a company that was truly making history.During my time at Fox, I was responsible for providing legal services in the area of business law; my duties included drafting license agreements for television programs and agreements for various television services such as scheduling, playout, encoding, multiplexing, encryption, uplink and satellite capacity throughout the European Economic Area (EEA). This experience allowed me to develop a deep understanding of the intricacies of the industry and the legal challenges it faces.My time at Fox has been nothing short of remarkable. I had the opportunity to work with some of the most talented people in the industry, who were as passionate about their work as they were about pushing the boundaries of Italian audiovisual production. The experience I gained at Fox has been invaluable to my career and has significantly shaped my perspective on the legal landscape of the television industry.I am filled with immense gratitude for having had the opportunity to contribute to a company that has left such an indelible mark. The lessons I learned and the experiences I had at Fox will always hold a special place in my heart.
